Bruker UK Ltd has an open position for a Sales Specialist within Life Science Mass Spectrometry. The aim of the job is to develop the company’s business and to enforce Bruker Daltonics as a major, market-leading supplier for Life Science Mass Spectrometry solutions in the region. The primary objectives of the job are to achieve and ideally exceed the sales order budget for the respective territory and to promote, drive, and control the sales activities in a competitive way and in accordance with the company strategy, to raise the profile of the company in the Mass Spectrometry community and to ensure customer satisfaction post sale.
Responsibilities
- To effectively manage and grow the given sales territory, and subsequent orders for Bruker, through implementing pre-planned quantity, direction and quality of sales activity.
- To achieve and ideally exceed assigned territory sales target by maintaining and growing sales in current accounts and identifying and closing business in new accounts.
- Willingness and ability to travel for extensive periods of time, this will be on a variable frequency depending upon demand and tasks and may be up to 70% at times with stay away-from-home.
- International travel possible as well (internal trainings and meetings, participation in instrument demonstrations in the European laboratories).
- To have a proficient knowledge of the Bruker Life Science products with emphasis on the relevant features and benefits of the Company’s instruments.
- To build and articulate Bruker’s value proposition, as well as understanding customer decision-making process to key decision makers and influencers.
- To accurately forecast prospects through the sales cycle and maintain the Company database for the territory in terms of personal activity and customer contacts, customer information and sales opportunities, on a weekly basis.
- To use appropriate sources of information to uncover and develop enough opportunities in the territory to ensure pipeline and target is achieved.
- To interpret customer needs and identify Bruker Daltonics solutions.
- Effective organisation in terms of time and travel to maximise time in front of customers.
- To cultivate key accounts and relationships with key opinion leaders.
- To provide sales territory information, forecasts, reports, and other business data through Bruker direct line management structure.
- To identify and work with internal resource to enhance customer interaction through the sales process.
- To conduct marketing exercises such as conference participation, exhibitions, commercial seminars and composing agendas for meetings.
- To manage public and private tender submissions.
- Any other appropriate and reasonable task that may be required from time to time upon request of the Bruker sales management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/biochemistry or equivalent scientific degree.
- Minimum of five years sales experience in related industry, with demonstrated success.
- Clear understanding of the UK academic and industrial markets, together with a proven track record of working with technology-based products in those markets.
- Experience in chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry within the Life Sciences sector.
- Good market intelligence with respect to competitive products and vendors.
- Personal tenacity and self-motivation inspired by success, enthusiasm, drive, and initiative directed towards sales growth.
- Ability to operate within, and as, a team member and to meet ambitious but achievable targets, particularly with regards to sales success.
- Excellent written and spoken communications skills in English.
- Self-discipline and the ability to communicate with line manager priorities in a rapidly changing commercial environment.
- The personality of a natural team player, willing and able to build confidence and to establish co-operative relationships with personnel throughout the Company.
- An outgoing and likeable personality with a high degree of personal integrity and corporate compliance.
- A very high standard of personal presentation.
- Irregular hours and extensive travel are an essential part of the job.
