Calon Cymru Fostering currently has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Operations Manager to join the team based in our Cardiff office and covering our southeast Wales region, in a role where your passion, commitment, and professional excellence can shine.

As a Deputy Operations Manager you will join an established team of supervising social workers and support workers led by an experienced Operations Manager. You will supervise a small number of social workers and support workers and hold a limited case load of foster carers with complex placements. You will deputise for the Operations Managers when required. You will drive the development and delivery of the professional practice of Calon Cymru, providing a high-quality service to commissioning local authorities, foster carers, and children. You’ll advocate for excellence in fostering, contributing to assessments, reviews, and policy adherence.

Salary: Up to £46,000

Location: Office base Llanishen, Cardiff, post allows hybrid home/office working

You will need…

  • Recognised Social Work Qualification, CQSW, CSS, DipSW, Social Work Degree
  • Social Care Wales registration
  • At least 5 years post qualifying experience of fostering or working with looked after children and young people.
  • Full clean driver’s licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Willingness to participate in a managers’ out of hours rota, providing telephone support to the on call supervising social worker.
