Role

St. Seraphim’s Icon and Railway Museum are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Grant Writer to conduct prospect research, assemble, write and submit grant proposals and maintain a calendar of submissions and deadlines. You will be researching grant-giving organisations and prioritising opportunities with the highest probability of success for our organisation. You will write and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations persuasively communicating St Seraphim’s mission to potential funders and then measuring our success rate.

Time commitment

Monday – Wednesday, flexible office based or could be done remotely after induction.

About the organisation

St. Seraphim’s Icon and Railway Heritage museum is located in the former railway station in Little Walsingham. The museum’s primary collection is the hand painted Icons, materials, documentation and equipment left by the former Orthodox icon painter who worked at the station. The museum has an HLF funded project, “Volunteering at St. Seraphim’s Trust: displaying icons and reaching new communities”. The aim of the project is to share St. Seraphim’s unique heritage with visitors of all ages by creating a new permanent display of icons. The new Icon Gallery is open to visitors and we are developing this. The collection also includes objects, photographs and documentation relating to the railway and how the railway revived pilgrimage, which requires funding to enable us to share with our visitors.
