The Golf Pro Shop Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service to members and guests. Responsibilities include:

  • Check members and guests in, utilizing the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing purchases and managing the reservation system.
  • Utilize tee sheet demand management strategies such as opening on time, implementing a double tee system, and booking from the outside in.
  • Maintain the pro shop environment by keeping the shop neat and orderly, assisting with merchandise display, and following corporate guidelines for opening and closing duties.
  • Handle member/guest service issues promptly and effectively.
  • May provide leadership in the absence of the Golf Shop Supervisor, including interviewing, training, and evaluating performance of other Golf Shop Assistants.
  • Maintain a professional and service-oriented environment in the pro shop.
  • Ensure service continuity in the pro shop by maintaining a flexible work schedule.
  • Assist the General Manager in the delivery of staff meetings.
  • Implement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by management.

Qualifications include basic math skills, the ability to write and communicate clearly, and experience handling customer service issues and transactions. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Working Conditions:

Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs. Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and perform various physical activities.
