Expleo is a leading aerospace engineering and quality assurance services provider. We work with some of the major space and defence providers and OEMs on their transformational projects. We have an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace MRB & Buildline Support Engineer to work within our expanding MRB Team at our Expleo offices. Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Technical Authority for Design & the Programme Delivery Lead for MRB.
- Carry out design analysis on machine shop local concessions produced by manufacturing and quality, highlighting machining defects and determining rework solutions.
- Assess whether the detail needs to be raised as a full concession for further investigation.
- Process detail machine shop local concessions / NCRs, assessing the defect's effect on assembly and sub-assembly interfaces to evaluate the impact on the fitting of parts.
- Identify efficient analysis methods while ensuring compliance with airworthiness and customer procedures.
- Liaise with multiple functions and suppliers (e.g., design/stress approvers) to ensure appropriate design solutions considering cost, time, performance, and installation requirements.
- Understand tolerance build-up through analysis of interfacing assembly tolerances and assess the impact of deviations on subsequent assembly levels.
- Explain and escalate critical issues; mentor others as needed.
- Be on-site 4 days per week at Samlesbury.
Essential Skills
- SAP CAM CAD: Catia V5 DPDS PLM TEAMCENTRE Skype / Outlook / MS Office Experience.
- Knowledge of military processes and procedures related to concessions.
- Experience of automation of repeatable tasks/processes.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working on concessions, directly or in the supply chain, with some delegated technical approval, preferably on the TYPHOON project.
- Knowledge of metallic 5-axis machining and design easements related to 5-axis details.
- Understanding of material properties, manufacturing methods, and their effects on aircraft performance.
- Experience with change processes.
- Proficiency with SAP CAM, CATIA V5, and PLM Teamcenter.
- Understanding of build tolerances, analysis, and M&P requirements.
- Collaborative working approach and a passion for technology and continuous learning, supported by ExpleoAcademy training.
