Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI governance frameworks that align with GDPR principles, including data protection by design and by default.
- Ensure lawful, fair, and transparent data processing in all AI systems, particularly regarding automated decision-making and profiling under Articles 13–22 of the GDPR.
- Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for AI use cases to identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks.
- Collaborate with Data Protection Officers (DPOs), legal teams, and technical leads to ensure GDPR-compliant AI development and deployment.
- Monitor AI systems for compliance with GDPR over time, including auditability, explainability, and data subject rights (e.g., access, rectification, erasure).
- Lead training and awareness programs to build organizational understanding of AI risks and GDPR responsibilities.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments in AI and data protection (e.g., EU AI Act) and adjust governance policies accordingly.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and related privacy laws, particularly as they apply to AI, automated decision-making, and data subject rights.
- Experience in data governance, compliance, or risk management, preferably in contexts involving AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and lifecycle, including how data is collected, processed, and used in model training and inference.
- Proven ability to conduct or oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and implement data protection by design and default.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working across legal, compliance, IT, and data science teams.
- Strong communication and training skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and legal concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Up-to-date understanding of emerging AI regulations, such as the EU AI Act, and ability to anticipate their impact on governance policies.
