Role Overview

As a Mechanical Practical Trainer, you will play a crucial role in training and developing the next generation of aircraft engineering apprentices. You will ensure apprentices pass their basic hand skills competency and knowledge assessments at the end of year 1, progressing through a 4-year program with increased skills.

Responsibilities

  • Guide apprentices in acquiring and achieving exceptional hand skills.
  • Increase apprentice skill levels over the 4-year program.
  • Identify and fast-track high-performing apprentices.
  • Teach basic hand skills, tool identification, aircraft and engine component removal and installation, sheet metal repairs, and aircraft systems understanding.
  • Provide feedback on apprentice performance to management.
  • Demonstrate practical teaching skills and understanding of aircraft systems.
  • Collaborate with the training team to improve teaching methods.
  • Work with diverse individuals, promoting a positive environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in mechanical training; aircraft experience is advantageous but not essential.
