Job Summary: The Inside Sales Manager will monitor sales metrics and assist Branch/District Management in overseeing the entire sales administration process. This role will collaborate with various professional salespeople and operations staff, leveraging excellent communication skills and business acumen to foster teamwork, grow profitability, and achieve established KPI’s. The Inside Sales Manager further advances the performance of his/her team to overcome challenges and achieve specific goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead sales team in all aspects of work, elevating their individual abilities and performance to best serve respective customers and the business at large.
- Evaluate, develop, and train new employees and review progress of subordinates periodically with Branch or District Manager.
- Problem-solve with customers and coworkers with diplomacy and seek assistance when needed.
- Establish goals and objectives for assigned area to meet overall department goals; develop and implement new and revised methods or procedures to improve efficiency and help achieve goals.
- Resolve customer order problems and complaints promptly.
- Review complaints concerning billing or products sold, referring complaints to designated departments for investigation and resolution.
- Coach sales team to enhance product knowledge, including the make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by being familiar with products sold in the department by use, vendor, location in warehouse, catalog and catalog number, other reference materials, and special selling points.
- Identify and utilize appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems.
- Ensure sales team is empowered to establish or improve relationships with customers to better understand sales territory, schedule and customer needs by phone and customer visits.
- Communicate with customers by phone or in person to lend direct assistance as needed.
- Describe and/or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasises salable features.
- Help facilitate the sale of new or additional products.
- Sell and promote branch and company-wide promotions and specials as directed.
- Work with outside salespeople and management on sales strategy, target account development, and any other customer related issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
- Proven work experience as an Inside Sales Representative and Leader.
- Proficient with CRM software and MS Excel.
- In-depth understanding of the sales administration process.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Numerical abilities and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree in Sales, Business Administration, or relevant field; and Five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
