Holroyd Howe was founded by Rick Holroyd and Nick Howe in 1997 and became part of WSH in 2007. It is the leading contract caterer in the UK working in the independent education sector and prides itself on getting to know those who they feed and becoming part of the school community. Holroyd Howe understands that good nutrition plays a significant part in the overall welfare of children and their performance and happiness and works closely with each school to understand their unique requirements so that their service is tailored appropriately.

Here at Holroyd Howe we currently have an exciting opportunity for a visionary and tenacious Sales Director. As the Sales Director you will be part of the leadership team and play an integral part in delivering our business plan, by delivering an effective sales strategy and identifying and securing new business development opportunities for Holroyd Howe. The Sales Director will also have a strategic focus on the retention of existing business.

The ideal candidate will possess a track record in sales within Foodservice or the wider hospitality industry with demonstrable experience of winning new business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspirational and tenacious Sales Director to make a name for themselves within the food service industry.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement a robust sales strategy, reviewing progress on a regular basis with the senior leadership team.
  • Lead, motivate and inspire a sales team, ensuring there is robust sales management practices across the business and there are clear sales and KPI targets.
  • Create innovative and creative tender proposals and plans.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities for the company, defining where to focus new business development efforts and resources.
  • Provide up to date competitor analysis and industry trends to the Executive team.
  • Build up and maintain appropriate relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Research new markets and emerging market trends, recommending new services and proposing and developing new strategic client partnerships.
  • Manage an effective pipeline of potential new business accounts and active bids from first contact to final close, enabling clear definition of the best possible pre-RFP strategy.
  • Lead on presenting to new/prospective clients during the tender process and oversee the production of RFP responses to time and to client specifications.
  • Manage sales resources and costs to budget and plan.
  • Liaise with operational and support colleagues to ensure their positive input to proposals, presentations and site visits.
  • In conjunction with the Operations Directors, identify client relationship layers for business that is due to be retendered and ensure the delivery of tender commitments.
  • Build and maintain strong industry sector relationships by having a presence and networking in the independent schools market.

Qualifications

  • Track record in B2B sales within a multi-location industry.
  • Demonstrable experience of winning new business as well as strong account management expertise.
  • Excellent commercial skills, with the ability to exploit opportunities and prioritise accordingly.
  • Accomplished leader and people manager, able to pull a team together and communicate the common goals to gain buy-in and support.
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal, who can confidently influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Financially astute with the ability to think and plan strategically, but still deliver to demanding timescales.
  • Strong business acumen and an informed strategic thinker who can demonstrate high levels of commercial and emotional intelligence.
  • Proven ability to work on complex multiple projects at any given time.
  • Self-starter who is energetic and motivated.
  • High integrity and personal standards with the drive and determination to succeed.
  • Thrives working in a fast paced business.
