We’re seeking a vibrant, motivated, creative, and passionate educator with a sparkling personality to join our well-resourced centre to support our tamariki, parents, and whānau in facilitating child-led play.

Start date: 6 May 2025

Location: Mayfield Playcentre

Days & hours: Monday to Wednesday 9.15am – 1.15pm. This is a permanent position during term time only.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.
  • Hold a primary teaching qualification and be prepared to undertake a Playcentre Bridging Course.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults.
  • Passion for empowering and engaging with all whānau to feel a sense of belonging during our sessions.
  • Knowledge of ECE regulations or willingness to upskill.
  • Ability to use technology.
