Overall Purpose of The Job: The role ensures compliance with customer agreements, budget ownership, workforce planning, engagement, crew retention, and service delivery. It acts as the primary interface between Seafarers, Fleet Management, Crewing Operations, and external stakeholders, ensuring the execution of crew-related activities.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Crew Management & Service Delivery: Ensure all duties comply with VMS, national, and international statutory requirements. Collaborate with Fleet Cell and Marine HR to ensure service delivery as per contracts. Serve as escalation point for crew-related issues, working with Fleet Managers and Crewing Operations. Deliver on KPIs related to crew management, including budget responsibilities. Utilize ShipSure effectively for all crewing activities and coordinate with teams for vessel crew management.
  • Crew Planning & Workforce Management: Manage crew engagement and welfare. Maintain effective crew rotation plans aligned with global principles and guided by Global Pool Managers. Identify candidates for vacancies, escalate critical issues, and support crew pool management. Assist in vessel transitions and support career development and performance monitoring of seafarers. Address crew retention risks by engaging with key stakeholders.
  • Budget Management & Operational Efficiency: Manage vessel budgets, including negotiations and reporting. Contribute to budget preparation with insights on wages, benefits, and costs. Monitor service performance and budget reviews, recommending improvements.
  • Compliance, Industrial Relations & HSSEQ Support: Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and flag state requirements. Manage urgent crew changes and vacancies efficiently. Support HSSEQ in accident investigations and corrective actions. Maintain data quality and support quality assurance processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Process Improvement: Participate in new business proposals and onboarding processes. Collaborate with stakeholders, including seafarers, to ensure excellent service. Promote V.Group and Marine HR services and initiatives. Provide feedback on process improvements and digital tools. Deliver transparent, data-driven client reports.
