Redstone Commodity Search focuses on offering 360Β° search solutions to the global commodities markets. We are working with a global commodity trading house that is looking to hire a Metals Operations Manager / Head to lead their metals trading operations team.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Lead and manage the global metals trading operations team, overseeing the full operational cycle for iron ore and metal concentrates.
- Ensure efficient and compliant execution of physical trades, coordinating closely with front office, shipping, finance, and compliance departments.
- Oversee contract management, documentation, and letters of credit processes for international shipments.
- Monitor and improve operational processes, identifying areas for increased efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external counterparties across the supply chain.
- The role will focus on people management, strategy and leadership, but will also require you to be hands on operating cargos when necessary.
- Report to the VP of Operations.
Key Qualifications / Experience
- 10+ yearsβ experience in trading operations, with a strong focus on physical metals β particularly iron ore and metal concentrates.
- Proven track record in leading and managing teams within a trading environment.
- Excellent understanding of shipping documentation, trade finance (including letters of credit), and international logistics.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to solving operational challenges.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Based in London or happy to relocate.
