Telent's Network Services division is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Southampton. This role offers an opportunity to work with a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and exposure to challenging projects. The Cloud Engineer will develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between the engineering team and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Cloud Engineer - Responsibilities:

  • Train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
  • Assist with Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
  • Monitor customer incidents and report on nominated accounts.
  • Highlight trends, security threats, or technical bulletins affecting customers.
  • Maintain documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
  • Follow internal and external processes regarding task management, reporting, and changes.
  • Assist with Proof of Concept scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
  • Create and review technical documentation such as TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW.
  • Assist in pre-staging equipment for customer sites.
  • Participate in customer meetings and support reviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of timesheets and expenses.
  • Align certifications and training with business objectives.
  • Adhere to GDPR and information security policies.

Cloud Engineer - Requirements:

  • Interest in Cloud technologies, with some Azure knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange exposure.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and experience in support environments.
  • On-premise Cloud Services experience.
  • Desirable certifications include VCP 6.x-DCV, MCSA, LPIC-2.
  • Knowledge of Networking, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure MFA, VMware vCloud Director.
  • Leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, problem-solving passion, and ability to work independently or in a team.
