An award-winning architectural practice is seeking an experienced and visionary AI Lead to drive the integration of artificial intelligence across its design and operational workflows. This strategic role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in AI who is passionate about transforming creative and technical processes within the built environment sector. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of AI strategies, tools, and training programs across the practice, empowering architects and support teams to harness AI in innovative, meaningful ways.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the practice’s AI strategy, aligning with both design and business goals.
- Identify opportunities for AI adoption across architecture, planning, sustainability, visualisation, and operations.
- Work closely with design teams to embed AI tools into creative workflows, from concept to delivery.
- Train and mentor support staff in the use of AI to improve efficiencies across the business.
- Provide structured training and mentorship on AI tools and best practices to staff at all levels.
- Collaborate with IT and digital design teams to ensure infrastructure supports scalable AI use.
- Stay at the forefront of AI developments, evaluating emerging tools and technologies for relevance and impact.
Requirements
- Proven experience in AI, machine learning, or computational design within a design, architecture, or creative industry context.
- Strong technical skills across key AI platforms and tools (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, Midjourney, Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion).
- Clear communicator, able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience implementing AI-driven change in a creative or collaborative environment.
- Ideally a background in the built environment (architecture, construction).
- Passion for innovation, architecture, and the future of technology in design.
