Teesside (Travel within the region required)

A well-established industrial services company is looking to recruit a skilled Service Engineer with an electrical engineering focus to join their team in the Teesside area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on reactive maintenance and urgent callouts, providing rapid support to customers facing critical equipment challenges.

The Service Engineer will diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on overhead cranes and lifting equipment. Responsibilities include breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics, and on-site electrical work to restore equipment quickly and safely. The role involves interpreting electrical schematics, maintaining service records, adhering to health and safety standards, and traveling regularly within the Teesside region, including occasional out-of-hours callouts.

The ideal candidate will be a time-served electro-mechanical engineer with a strong electrical bias, excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, and a thorough understanding of electrical safety regulations. Experience working at height in industrial environments and strong customer service and communication skills are essential. The role requires a professional, proactive approach with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively under pressure.

A valid UK driving licence is essential due to regional travel requirements. Additional qualifications such as LEEA certification, IPAF or FLT training, and knowledge of PLC systems would be advantageous but are not essential as appropriate training will be provided. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and the willingness to participate in emergency callouts are important for success in this role.

This is an excellent opportunity in a challenging, hands-on, and solution-driven business. Interested parties should apply accordingly or contact Mike Pritchard-Howarth in the first instance for a confidential conversation. Contact details can be found via the Newman Stewart website.
