Following new opportunities to grow our estate management portfolios, we are looking for a qualified chartered surveyor to join our friendly and ambitious rural team based in our Winchester office, working alongside a team of property professionals. Our Winchester office handles the full range of rural surveying, including estate management, property agency, valuations, rural grant applications, compensation, landlord and tenant matters and delivering national framework contracts across the Southeast.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing key client relationships and delivering the ongoing growth of the Winchester office’s private client base and achieving the firm’s vision. Key Responsibilities:- Day to day professional advice to a mixed portfolio of estate and land-owning clients.
- Servicing private clients’ needs in all matter of professional work and advice primarily (but not exclusively) across Berkshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire and West Sussex, providing high level of advice relating to IHT planning, AHA and FBT agreements, business consultancy and grant applications.
- Working with the Partners to expand this aspect of the business.
- Work with other Carter Jonas divisions, particularly Planning & Development and Energy to explore opportunities for clients.
- There is an opportunity to develop a rural planning and energy specialism within the role if the candidate so desires.
The above day to day work will suit a qualified RICS registered valuer (less than 2 years post qualification considered), with a particular interest in the delivery of valuations to a high standard, with the confidence and enthusiasm to take on a regional and national role. The rural valuation team, as a whole, have ambitious targets as part of the wider Carter Jonas Vision 2030 and are looking for new team members to help achieve the growth of the wider rural division, including the identifying new work streams and targeting new clients.
What will it take to be successful?You will be a chartered surveyor who has a successful track record in delivering excellent general rural professional services and experience in developing relationships with existing and potential clients. We are looking for enthusiasm, integrity and a can-do attitude; someone who can manage multiple projects and deal with a variety of work. You will have detailed knowledge of landlord and tenant matters and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, where you will need to be flexible in your approach and contribute to a supportive and collaborative team. You will be prepared to participate in managing and developing other team members, while actively seeking out continuous self-development.
