For one of our clients, we are seeking a Development Lead (React / Python), remotely from the UK, Poland, or South Africa. As a Development Lead, you will oversee a scrum team, drive the development of new features, and scale the platform to meet increasing customer demands and data volumes. You will mentor your team, offering technical guidance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule. Focused on performance, security, and customer success, you will work in a dynamic, remote-first environment emphasizing continuous learning and innovation.
Accountabilities:
- Lead a scrum team, ensuring high-quality code delivery and platform scalability
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering technical and personal growth
- Collaborate with Group Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and other departments to plan and execute projects
- Ensure the platform maintains high performance, handles large datasets, and operates 24/7
- Promote a culture of fast, sustainable shipping, ownership, and open communication
- Drive security and customer success throughout the development lifecycle
Requirements:
- Strong experience with React, Typescript, and Python in a commercial setting
- Expertise in Node.js and familiarity with git, PRs, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience, ideally in a remote team
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Experience with high-performance, big data, or multi-tenant systems is a plus
- Knowledge of technologies like Django, MongoDB, Google BigQuery, RabbitMQ, and Azure DevOps is advantageous
