Job Description for Critical Care Registered Nurse This position requires a Covid vaccine (dec form not accepted). The RN may need to float to other units, including M/S and Tele. The unit is a critical care setting with 10 beds, and certifications in BLS and ACLS are required. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 2-3:1, depending on patient mix. EMR system used is EPIC. No charge nurse role. Nurse aides are 0-1. Weekend and holiday shifts are negotiable. Scrub color is flexible. Telemetry monitoring is required, including reading strips. Drips managed include Levophed, vasopressin, phenylephrine, epinephrine, fentanyl, propofol, precedex, Ativan, insulin, heparin, Cardizem, cardene, dopamine, dobutamine, and midazolam. Vents are used. 24/7 hospitalist coverage, with daytime intensivist presence and night on-call. RT and pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts are from 1900 to 0730, with three shifts weekly and potential for additional shifts. Floating is preferred and can be discussed. Orientation consists of two shifts. Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, ARDS, sepsis, DKA, stroke, withdrawal/OD, post-op/surgical, GI bleed/anemia, hypertensive urgency, and heart failure. The CCU may have a mix of critical/intermediate and telemetry patients, with some conditions requiring higher-level care transfer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
