You do not need prior experience in the Renewable Energy industry. Mid to Senior career level. Remote UK or Hybrid working from our Edinburgh (Stockbridge) office depending on your home location.
Locogen are looking for a planner to join our growing, innovative renewables company. We have a diverse workload, so there would be a variety of projects and types of work to get involved in and plenty of opportunity to learn new things and develop your skills. Locogen is a renewable energy company. Our vision is a world powered 100% by renewables; where everyone has access to affordable, sustainable energy and clean air. Our work is innovative and varied across Wind, Solar PV, Battery Storage (BESS) and Hydrogen. We have grown significantly over the last year and have ambitious plans. There’s lots to do!
About our Planning role: This is a core role within our Planning and Environment Team. We have space for people across the experience level. You will be responsible for the delivery and management of the development and consenting stages of renewable energy projects for our clients and Joint Venture (JV) partners. The work will be very varied in size, scope, technology and location. We are looking for someone who understands how to employ best practice project development and community / stakeholder engagement principles so that we achieve a high degree of success in the planning system.
Some of the things you will be doing:
- Site finding and feasibility.
- Pre-application advice, Screening and Scoping.
- Co-ordinating survey works.
- Submission of applications.
- Consent management including appeals (if required).
- Discharge of planning conditions.
- Compliance monitoring on construction and operational phases.
You will be a good fit if you have / are:
- Excellent knowledge of relevant planning and environmental legislation across the UK.
- Experience of managing large inter-disciplinary planning teams, comprising of a range of internal and external resources, to ensure excellent outputs and high-quality submissions.
- Comfortable working on multiple projects at various stages in development and with evolving scopes, in the context of competing priorities.
- Capable of developing and building excellent client, stakeholder and community relationships.
- Experience in the submission and management of planning appeals.
- Experience in the development and consenting of energy infrastructure projects in the UK would be great, but not necessary.
