The Data Systems Manager/Lead will work with designated departments within Pragmatic Semiconductor to develop and administer the organisation’s database systems and be responsible for providing customer insight, business intelligence architecture, provisioning of data for reporting and analysis services to a range of internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Director of Smart Factory, this role will be responsible for all policies and procedures relating to Mfg IT, and especially those relating to data security.
Key tasks
- Database Management & Reporting
- Act as system administration lead for all MFG related databases (based on SQL and Oracle platforms), ensuring data integrity and hygiene through overall management and supervision of the system.
- Create and maintain an internal roadmap for OLAP (Data Warehouse, Datamart) development.
- Establish and chair internal Data Systems User Group, identifying key stakeholders and super users across the organisation on Data Strategy and OLAP (Data Warehouse, Datamart) roadmap.
- Manage and implement annual upgrades of database systems in the organisation, creating testing plans which ensure thorough testing of all parts of the system, including custom reports and the ticketing pathway of the website, prior to go live.
- Liaise with our internal IT Support/external IT provider to coordinate upgrades in a timely and efficient manner.
- Proactively support and develop MFG related OLTP and OLAP databases to ensure that internal customers obtain maximum benefit from the platforms by liaising with key stakeholders across all teams that utilise the databases.
- Maintain, develop and create reports (predominantly in SSRS) and develop tools and training to give users appropriate on-demand / self-service access to data (e.g. through web portals, intranet, web reports and analysis tools such as JMP).
- Departmental Support & Training
- Manage/build a team geared towards manufacturing operations 24x7 support.
- Collaborate very closely with key internal stakeholders such as MFG Operations, Process Development, Test Development and other teams as required on any database management and OLAP (Data Warehouse, Datamart) development needs.
- Work with OPS Mgmt team to develop new systems and processes across the Division to maximise data query efficiency.
- Create user documentation and develop and deliver user training; provide high-level technical support to system super users with a team.
- Ensure the organisation is adhering to data protection law, regulations and safeguarding requirements in relation to its use of data.
- Be the gatekeeper and keep abreast of any certified ISO compliance guideline requirements e.g. ISO27001 Information Security, ISO50001 Energy Management Systems.
Qualifications and training
- Degree or above with major in Computer Science, Information Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Proficient in relational MSSQL and/or Oracle database systems, scripting, and programming languages.
- Knowledge of Big data setup and DB packages and DBA related Certification is desired.
Skills and experience
- Experienced leading a team of database/data/software engineers in a technical/managerial role.
- SSRS report writing (using T-SQL, including writing Stored Procedures and Views).
- Proficient in commonly used programming languages (C#, Java).
- Experienced in semiconductor industry standard packages e.g. YMS, FDC, SPC and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Tool automation data collection is desired.
