We urgently require a contract Infrastructure Engineer to support a client in Kent. The role will include a mix of Project and Support work and needs someone with a flexible attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work across a range of technologies.

Required Knowledge/Awareness:

  • Proficiency in Windows 2003-2022 Server environments.
  • High level of knowledge within Azure.
  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, VPNs, VLANs.
  • SolarWinds monitoring tool.
  • VMware vSphere, Azure VMWare Solution (AVS), and Hyper-V.
  • Citrix Cloud.
  • Backup solutions: Tivoli, Azure, and Veeam.
  • Azure cost savings recommendations.
  • DNS & SSL Certificates.
  • Windows Patching and Vulnerabilities.
  • Security Practices.

Tasks:

  • Building and implementing new servers, working with third parties.
  • Proactively checking the infrastructure call queue in Jira.
  • Providing and updating documentation (Confluence).
  • Collaborating with helpdesk and users daily.
  • Diagnosing and resolving infrastructure issues quickly and effectively.

The successful candidate must have their own transport and be able to commit to at least two days per week on-site in Dover, Kent. The role falls inside IR35 and will initially last for two months. Candidates should be eligible for UK Security Clearances and available at short notice.
