We urgently require a contract Infrastructure Engineer to support a client in Kent. The role will include a mix of Project and Support work and needs someone with a flexible attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work across a range of technologies.
Required Knowledge/Awareness:
- Proficiency in Windows 2003-2022 Server environments.
- High level of knowledge within Azure.
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, VPNs, VLANs.
- SolarWinds monitoring tool.
- VMware vSphere, Azure VMWare Solution (AVS), and Hyper-V.
- Citrix Cloud.
- Backup solutions: Tivoli, Azure, and Veeam.
- Azure cost savings recommendations.
- DNS & SSL Certificates.
- Windows Patching and Vulnerabilities.
- Security Practices.
Tasks:
- Building and implementing new servers, working with third parties.
- Proactively checking the infrastructure call queue in Jira.
- Providing and updating documentation (Confluence).
- Collaborating with helpdesk and users daily.
- Diagnosing and resolving infrastructure issues quickly and effectively.
The successful candidate must have their own transport and be able to commit to at least two days per week on-site in Dover, Kent. The role falls inside IR35 and will initially last for two months. Candidates should be eligible for UK Security Clearances and available at short notice.
