We are seeking a passionate and analytical Game Designer with deep experience in slot game mechanics, player psychology, and math modelling. This role is perfect for someone who understands slots and can feel what makes a game thrilling or disappointing. You’ll be responsible for designing engaging, data-driven slot games that balance player experience, regulatory compliance, and mathematical integrity.

Location: Remote/hybrid in UK, Poland, Malta or Spain. Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design slot game concepts from initial idea to final specs, including reel sets, symbol behaviours, bonus features, and overall game flow.
  • Evaluate games from a player-first perspective, understanding emotional triggers, engagement loops, and what makes a game satisfying or frustrating.
  • Collaborate with math designers to ensure the game model aligns with the intended experience.
  • Write detailed game design documents (GDDs) including game rules, feature behaviour, visual/audio cues, and win mechanics.
  • Work with the Game Producer and team to ensure the presentation enhances the underlying game mechanics.
  • Participate in the testing and balancing of new games, providing feedback to ensure optimal player experience and game performance.
  • Analyse market trends, identifying what works, what doesn’t, and why.
  • Contribute to discussions on math models, including RTP, volatility, hit frequency, and player lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the Director of Product Strategy on new concepts to align with the company's strategy.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience in slot game design (online), with at least 5 shipped titles.
  • A genuine understanding of gambling psychology, you know what makes a slot “feel good.”
  • Strong knowledge of slot game math fundamentals (RTP, volatility, paytable structures, etc.).
  • Ability to critically analyse slot games, deconstruct features, and explain what makes them successful or not.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, at least 5 GDD.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively convey design ideas to producers, mathematicians, artists, and developers.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and responsible gaming guidelines relevant to the online casino industry (e.g., UKGC, MGA) (a plus).

  • Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Click Up, Jira.
  • Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, Figma or similar wireframing tools (for mockups).
