UCN is building a global price reporting agency (PRA) for seafood, with nearly 3,700 data sets, including 577 proprietary US wholesale price assessments. UCN data is critical for bringing transparency to the global seafood markets and enabling our customers to make more efficient and informed strategic decisions.

The Role
UCN seeks a commercially minded and enterprising senior price reporter to expand our pricing coverage across Europe, in addition to developing other key global benchmarks involving Asia and Latin America. This pivotal role is focused on building out wholesale price assessments across the EU and FOB, CFR, and CIF prices for seafood shipments destined for the region. In addition, you will be working on other key global seafood benchmarks UCN is already covering and also developing new ones. In addition to price discovery, you’ll turn your market intelligence into news and analysis for our global readership.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing new benchmark seafood price assessments and coverage for:
- Wholesale markets across Europe
- Import pricing (FOB/CFR/CIF) for delivery to Europe
- Supply and demand shifts
- Market disruptions
- Trade trends and regulatory changes
What You Need
- 3+ years’ experience in commodities reporting with a PRA, market analysis, or trade journalism.
- Strong understanding of FOB, CFR, and CIF pricing mechanisms.
- Proven ability to turn market movements into compelling news stories.
- Excellent sourcing and relationship-building skills.
- Highly numerate; comfortable using spreadsheets, charts, and trade data.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to assess market conditions and provide detailed statistical analysis.
- Fluent English and Spanish are required; proficiency in other European languages (e.g., French, German, and Portuguese) is a plus. Mandarin would also be useful.
