The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
You will be joining a growing team at Atana reporting into the Lab Manager and assisting the continuation of maintaining the high standards we deliver to our customers. The purpose of this role will be to help manage samples within the lab and product R&D.
- Sample Preparation:
- Weigh, measure and log samples accurately using balances and other laboratory equipment.
- Assist in the preparation of samples and analysis using techniques such as filtration, spectrometry and titration.
- Label and organize samples for storage and analysis.
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, including balances, pipettes, and glassware.
- Working with the lab manager and Operations manager assist in the calibration of laboratory instruments.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
- Order and receive laboratory supplies as needed.
- Support and ensure proper storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Laboratory Upkeep:
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Dispose of laboratory waste according to established safety protocols.
- Wash and sterilize glassware and other laboratory equipment.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory procedures and results.
- Assist in the preparation of laboratory reports.
- Follow established data management procedures.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
- Know and follow chemical handling and disposal procedures.
- General Assistance:
- Assist researchers and lab technicians with various tasks as needed.
- Assist with data entry.
Strong inter-personal skills, both in person and using Teams or telephone. Experience working in a lab environment. Strong team player. Highly organised and self-disciplined. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially: MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook. Innovative thinker, able to identify and provide improvements to current processes or procedures. Ability to work without direct (on-site) supervision.
