The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

As the Safeguarding Lead, you will be the key figure in ensuring the welfare and safety of all students, many of whom have complex needs. You'll work closely with SLT, staff, external agencies, and families to promote a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the school
  • Maintain and update safeguarding policies and procedures in line with statutory requirements
  • Lead on child protection and safeguarding concerns and referrals
  • Provide staff training and ongoing support to ensure safeguarding best practices
  • Build trusted relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Liaise with social care, the police, and external agencies as required

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a safeguarding role, ideally within an educational or care setting
  • DSL qualification (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, KCSIE, and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • A commitment to promoting the wellbeing and rights of young people, particularly those with additional needs
