About the role
Civil Engineer – Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance) is a partnership of eight leading companies—Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO—delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, we are preparing to undertake our largest project yet. We’re seeking innovative, talented Civil Engineers to help us drive change in the East of England.
What you’ll be doing
- Design civil engineering solutions for water and wastewater projects, including pipelines, structures, and nature-based solutions.
- Produce designs, calculations, and specifications, collaborating with CAD technicians for 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Progress projects from feasibility to construction, ensuring delivery meets standards, budget, and timelines.
- Conduct site visits for asset assessments, feasibility studies, and survey data collection.
- Promote health and safety by identifying and eliminating design hazards under CDM Regulations.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, senior engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Enhance project sustainability, innovation, and digital approaches.
- Support the development of Standard Products and perform technical reviews.
Who we’re looking for
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in civil design, preferably in water or wastewater projects.
- Proficiency with British Standards, Eurocodes, MS Office, and design software.
- Ability to interpret ground investigation reports for design solutions.
- Strong communication, report-writing, and data analysis skills.
- Passion for problem-solving, innovation, and driving positive change.
