We have an exciting opportunity for a Door Assembly Operative Apprentice. You will take part in woodworking and joinery with practical experience in the manufacturing of bespoke doors and fire doors.
Wage: £15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. This is the starting wage and the salary will be reviewed on a regular basis taking into account performance and progression throughout the apprenticeship process.
Training course: Lean manufacturing operative (level 2)
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 07:30 - 16:30. Friday, 07:30 - 15:30. 40 hours a week
Duration: 1 year 6 months
What you’ll do at work: You will be fully trained in all of the following areas:
- To learn all aspects of flush fire door construction and how to use the processing machinery
- Cross cut
- Sanding machines
- Lipping machines
- Glazing of doors

Training: Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. The level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship Standard is a multi-discipline programme, which encompasses a wide variety of job roles within the workplace. This apprenticeship standard is delivered within the workplace, where the apprentice will complete a Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing. You will receive Functional Skills training in English and maths prior to your End Point Assessment if you do not already hold a GCSE Grade 4/C or higher (or equivalent qualification) in these subjects.
Requirements:
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (grade 3/D and above)
