SPARFELL is currently looking for a passionate person to support its ever-growing operation within the Safety and Security field. The chosen candidate may be based in/near one of our European key hubs or adapted to the candidate’s location within Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Act as focal point for all matters related to safety and aviation security within SPARFELL Group.
  • Manage the SPARFELL Safety Management System and Security Programme.
  • Promote and periodically review the safety policy and objectives, actively promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis and management.
  • Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks.
  • Issue periodic reports on safety performance.
  • Maintain and update safety related documentation, hazard log and performance indicators.
  • Manage the FDM programme.
  • Ensure that safety related information is made available to all personnel.
  • Provide advice on safety and security matters.
  • Review, analyse and process occurrence reports to ensure timely notification and effective follow-up.
  • Act as facilitator of the Safety Review Board meetings.
  • Maintain the Emergency Response Plan and procedures and to organise and participate in actual or practice emergency responses.
  • Ensure the initiation and follow up of safety actions.
  • Act as company representative with the Civil Aviation Authority/Aviation Security on safety and security matters.
  • Keep track of international trends that could impact aviation safety and operational security.
  • Stay up to date with aviation legislation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and security training programs.
  • Supervise the execution and monitoring of aviation security measures as outlined in the Security Programme.
  • Study and monitor aviation security publications and information.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of internal and external safety/security findings and ensure the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience applying aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Part-M, Part-CAMO and Air Operations regulations.
  • Sound knowledge of safety management systems based on European Union management system requirements and ICAO Annex 19.
  • Understanding of aircraft accident/incident investigation.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
  • A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification. This requirement can be replaced by 5 additional years of experience (10 years of experience in total), that cover an appropriate combination of experience in tasks related to aircraft maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness management and/or surveillance of such tasks.
  • Extensive knowledge of human factors principles and Safety Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of maintenance methods.
  • Certified Security Manager from a European Union regulating body.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both inside and outside the company.
  • Well-developed communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills of a high order.
