The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Group Sales & Events Manager who will be responsible for the overall sales of all weddings, conferences and events at our venues on the Bolton Abbey Estate, including The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa. You’ll help grow the business through pro-active sales and marketing and assist the team with operating efficient, cost effective and totally customer focused events.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Initially to cover maternity leave in the Sales Managers Role for up to 1 year then to cover maternity leave in the Wedding & Events Managers role for up to 1 year.
- To work closely with the Resident Managers to ensure bookings are managed effectively to maximise sales opportunities.
- To work closely with the Head of Operations to develop and market weddings, events and conferences.
- To pro-actively manage team to ensure new sales opportunities are identified to meet budgeted sales targets.
- To set sales targets for the team.
- To continually monitor competitor and market activity and act upon any industry developments and trends.
- To maintain records of conversion statistics and sales data and produce weekly tracking reports.
- To ensure all wedding and events bookings are taken in an efficient, timely and customer focused manner.
- To ensure all customer documentation is accurate and of the highest quality.
- To ensure that all methods of payment are agreed prior to the date of the event. Credit facilities must be authorised by Company Management.
- To be able to communicate effectively and efficiently to prospective customers and internal departments.
- To produce weekly function sheet.
- To attend meetings as required.
- To attend Networking events as required.
- To manage and demonstrate high quality customer care to meet the service requirements of the properties.
- To ensure that all details of events are communicated to the relevant departments in a timely and efficient manner.
- To ensure the delivery of standards and service levels for all weddings, conferences and events.
- To keep all records accurate and up to date.
- To seek, monitor and act upon the comments and feedback from customers.
- To maintain a good knowledge of Devonshire Hotels & Restaurants Group Limited and to promote wherever possible.
- To travel between the three properties as required.
- To train and develop the Wedding & Events Coordinators.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To complete all Health & Safety and Job Skills training as required.
- To work in accordance with company Health & Safety guidelines especially in relation to Hazard and Accident.
- To be responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and relevant EC directives.
- To provide a healthy and comfortable working environment, smoking is prohibited throughout the Hotel.
- To undertake any training/coaching required by the Company to enable you to perform your duties effectively.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Previous experience within the weddings and events sector.
- Previous experience of a sales-orientated role.
- The ability to lead, motivate and manage a team.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Competent IT user (Word, Excel, Internet). Previous use of Guestline is preferable.
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
- Highly enthusiastic and motivated approach to work.
- Outgoing and approachable.
- Excellent oral and telephone skills with the ability to prepare written documents with impeccable attention to detail.
- Smart appearance with excellent personal hygiene standards.
- Experience of events, knowledge of industry standards and knowledge of the local area are essential.
