Company Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled facilities technician to join a dynamic team working to support the Maintenance team on the general facility upkeep. As a facilities technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining facilities and equipment to ensure their optimal functionality.

Facilities Technician Responsibilities:

  • Provide general and detailed maintenance including painting, hardware repairs and other repair/replacement work as required.
  • Perform weekly routine site, statutory checks and quality checks.
  • Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain appropriate service and repair records.
  • Undertake ordering of tools, components, parts and equipment from a range of suppliers to self-manage the work required.
  • Record spare parts used so replacements can be ordered.
  • Assist maintenance employees where required.
  • Understand and employ correct isolation techniques and be aware of safety obligations.
  • Assess and recommend tasks for new and improved services on site where required.
  • Identify repeat faults and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure that the areas under your control are kept clean and tidy.

Previous Experience:

  • Previous experience in a facilities maintenance/technician role.
  • Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and custodial hand and electric powered tools.
  • Logical problem solving ability.
  • Proven communication and diplomacy skills.
  • IT literate and competent in the use of MS Office applications.
  • Able to plan work to balance conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Reliable attendance and good timekeeping.
  • Willingness to continuously develop and be trained on equipment and qualifications.
  • Comfortable with working at heights.
  • Flexible and able to respond to occasional unusual working hours and weekends.
  • Ability to work well in a team and also on your own.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
