Job Title: Low Carbon / Heat Pump Assessor Location: Hybrid home working and onsite delivery across Greater London & the South East Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Role & Client Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Low Carbon / Heat Pump Assessor to join a respected and expanding training provider specialising in construction and building services apprenticeships. In this role, you will support apprentices working towards Low Carbon Technologies and Heat Pump qualifications—including Air Source and Ground Source systems—while collaborating with internal teams and partner organisations across Greater London and the South East. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the UK\’s green skills agenda while guiding apprentices through their learning journey, ensuring they develop the technical competence and confidence required to achieve industry-recognised qualifications. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Low Carbon and Heat Pump technologies (up to Level 3). Conduct onsite and remote observations, assessments, and progress reviews in line with apprenticeship standards. Support learners in completing 20% off-the-job training, ensuring learning plans are accurately recorded and monitored. Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment (EPA) and track their progress using e‑portfolio systems such as OneFile. Collaborate with employers and workplace mentors to ensure effective development of practical and theoretical skills. Work closely with internal quality teams (IQA) to maintain compliance and high delivery standards. Maintain accurate learner documentation in line with awarding body and organisational requirements. Promote sustainability and low‑carbon awareness as part of the training programme. Essential Criteria: Assessor qualification (e.g., CAVA, A1) or willingness to work towards this. Recent occupational experience in Heat Pumps and/or Low Carbon Technologies. Relevant technical qualification (e.g., LCL Heat Pump Certification or equivalent). Experience delivering or assessing apprenticeships or vocational training. Strong understanding of environmental standards and low‑carbon industry requirements. Familiarity with digital learning tools and e‑portfolio systems such as OneFile. Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently across both remote and onsite settings. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Desirable Criteria: Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET) or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience with other renewable technologies (e.g., solar thermal, energy efficiency systems).
