Position Summary
We are looking to hire a Strategy Associate to join our Investor Relations team. You will report to the Head of Investor Relations and work closely with CIC’s Managing Partner. You will support the raising of new funds from LPs, and work with our investment team to assist portfolio companies raise capital from co-investors. You will also drive strategic projects focused on the growth of CIC’s business. The role will include the following activities:
- CIC fundraising and co-investment
- Create materials for CIC fundraising, co-invest opportunities and investor events
- Prepare materials and analysis to respond to due diligence requests, including RFPs
- Coordinate meetings and calls for fundraising and due diligence sessions
- Maintain the CRM database, fundraising and co-invest pipelines
- Manage our virtual data rooms
- Develop market research on the science and technology investment market
- Perform background research and prepare presentations for business development activities with CIC’s stakeholders and strategic partners
- Assist with the development of our fund raising and co-invest strategies
- Support the deployment of AI tools to enhance and accelerate CIC’s operations
- Support CIC’s CFO in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports
- Support CIC’s ESG team in the preparation of our annual ESG and Impact reports
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a strategy, consulting, advisory or business development role
- An interest in science and technology venture capital. CIC invests in businesses from the DeepTech and Life Sciences sectors. While this is not an investment role, and no technical background in CIC’s investment sectors is required, it provides an exceptional view of dynamic and impactful businesses and entrepreneurs in these sectors
- Strong quantitative analysis skills. You will be working with a range of databases, AI tools, and financial models
- Strong written communication skills and a keen eye for detail. You will draft internal strategy papers, investor presentations, and work with CIC’s marketing team to prepare external communications
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines
- Highly organised with a commitment to excellence, taking pride in producing high quality work that doesn’t need to be checked
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); previous experience with CRM systems and AI tools is beneficial
