What Is the role of a Cash in Transit Officer?
As a Cash in Transit Officer, you will contribute to the safe and secure movement of cash and valuables between locations to enable service delivery whilst ensuring any business risk is mitigated.
What will I be doing as a Cash in Transit Officer?
- No two days or weeks are the same; one day you may be the driver, the next day you may be the courier.
- You may be working on your own or with a partner depending on your assigned duties.

- You will follow company processes and complete all associated documentation in line with operational targets.
- You will drive and park company vehicles responsibly and in line with the Highway Code, company policy and procedures to ensure compliance with all Health and Safety.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an efficient service is delivered to our customers.
- Maintain clear communications with your colleagues and branch management team to ensure issues or concerns are dealt with in a reasonable timescale and to a satisfactory requirement.
What would I need to succeed in the Cash in Transit Officer role?
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, security consciousness, trustworthiness, responsibility, and a methodical approach to work.
- Provide a continuous 10-year employment or education history (any gaps in employment history must be covered).
- Holding a valid SIA CIT licence is desirable; however, this can also be obtained through our fully funded training programme.
- Have a current and full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
- Be a conscientious driver and observe the highway code at all times.
- Be fully flexible with your approach to working patterns, working 4/5 over 7 days.
- Have strong interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work as part of a team or lone working as required.
- Have a strong security awareness.
- Be able to follow instructions and work to tight deadlines.
Please note that due to the secure nature of our business, all successful candidates will need to provide a ten-year traceable work or education history, complete a criminal record and credit background check, ensuring you declare any adverse history as this may affect your employment.
As a Cash in Transit Officer, we can offer you the following:
- £34,556.62 per annum.
- Ability to work paid overtime as the business requires.
- 45-hour per week contract.
- Working pattern will be any 4 or 5 days over 7.
- Shifts are 11.25 hours for a 4-day shift or 9 hours for a 5-day shift including a 30-minute paid lunch break.
- Shift times are between 4:20am – 8pm (7 Days a week), with a requirement to work alternative weekends on a rota basis.
- Paid annual leave entitlements (inclusive of 8 public/bank holidays) of: 32 days per calendar year - 5 over 7 days working patterns; or 26 days per calendar year - 4 over 7 days working patterns.
