Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks / Fabrication)

ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer TERM- Permanent My client is a manufacturer of specialist products for a variety of sectors, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Bristol area. Experience within the Nuclear/Defence/Aviation industry is desired, but not a necessity. The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar Experience with Sheet Metal/Metalwork/Fabrication is necessary for this role Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as CATIA, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc. Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations Proficient using MS Office The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers Producing 3D designs using CATIA and 2D designs with AutoCAD Being involved in final assembly of products Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans Updating 3D models and drawings Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible
