Salary: Scale PO1, Points 33-36, £32,870 - £35,423 per annum, pro rata
Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement a creative and effective events strategy aligned with St Basils’ fundraising and engagement goals.
- Event Delivery: Organise and oversee the execution of events, including fundraising campaigns, challenge events, community initiatives, and corporate engagement activities.
- Budget & Fundraising Targets: Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maximising revenue and return on investment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key individuals that facilitate our strategic objectives.
- Marketing & Promotion: Work with the St Basils marketing team to develop promotional materials, social media campaigns, and press coverage to maximise event reach.
- Volunteer & Team Management: Recruit, train, and coordinate event volunteers to ensure smooth event execution.
- Logistics & Risk Management: Oversee event logistics, supplier coordination, risk assessments, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct thorough event analysis, gathering feedback and impact metrics to continuously improve future events.
- Market Understanding: Understand the range of events that other charities are doing and tailor our offer so that it is unique to potential supporters.
- Database management: Effectively use our database to ensure we have oversight of how our events are performing.
- Any other duties consistent with the above, and any other relevant duties required as the job develops including working out of office hours when required.
- To work with the Head of Fundraising to make sure that all events activities are GDPR compliant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential: Educated to at least a university level, preferably with a qualification in an event related area OR demonstrable knowledge of a similar role.
ROLE EXPERIENCE
Essential: Proven experience in event management, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to develop and achieve fundraising targets through events.
KNOWLEDGE
Essential: Knowledge of fundraising regulations and GDPR compliance.
Desirable: Knowledge of and commitment to Equal Opportunities and Diversity/Anti Discriminatory Practice.
