Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality, which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to develop their site HSE strategy.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Maintain and build on all health, safety and environmental standards, processes & procedures
- Coach supervisors and managers on best practice across HSE
- Management of the EHS and ISO14001 environmental strategy
- Ensure the site remains legally compliant in all aspects of HSE - ISO14001 & ISO45001 Standard
- Investigate accidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Manage site procedures & standards for risk assessments, SSOW, control & monitoring hazards, substances, work equipment, PPE, manual handling
- Conduct health & safety inductions with contractors and new members of staff
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Must have experience in a similar HSE Manager position
- Beneficial to have worked in some form of manufacturing industry
- Must have NEBOSH General Certificate & IOSH
- ISO14001 auditing experience would be beneficial
- Knowledge of keeping up-to-date with HSE standards and ensuring site compliance
- Be flexible outside of working hours to discuss any questions or issues employees might have
- Experience of working with Environmental Management Systems
- Comfortable & confident coaching and influencing staff and managers on the importance of H&S
- Proactive and progressive individual
- Beneficial to have NEBOSH Diploma and IEMA Certificate in Environmental
