ERM is seeking an experienced Technical Safety & Risk Consultant to support projects in the Humberside area, based on the eastern side of the Pennines. This role can be aligned with our offices in York, Harrogate, or Manchester and involves a hybrid work model, combining office and remote work. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects, primarily focused on helping clients identify and assess major hazard risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop risk reduction solutions. You will support ERM's project delivery by adhering to client requirements and identifying opportunities to evolve services.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Chemical Engineering or a related science or engineering discipline and have experience in consultancy or industrial roles.
Main responsibilities:
- Utilize industrial experience and understanding of unit operations to implement hazard identification and risk assessment techniques.
- Ability to read engineering drawings such as Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs is required.
- Chair workshops including HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL determination studies.
- Guide and assist clients in complying with standards like BS EN 61511.
- Provide technical insights and reviews to ensure quality and alignment with ERM standards and client needs.
- Contribute to business development by building relationships with clients and developing proposals.
- Engage in project work and develop support functions/techniques for project delivery.
- Mentor junior team members, with previous experience preferred.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and engagement.
- Meet personal billability and sales targets.
