Better Society Capital (BSC) is the UK’s leading social impact investor, having played a pivotal role in scaling the social investment market to over £10bn since 2011. With a £600m balance sheet, BSC has backed innovative fund managers and financial intermediaries that direct capital to social enterprises and charities addressing pressing social challenges. The group invests to enable long-term, systemic change, measuring success by financial returns and social value generated across the impact ecosystem.
As BSC develops its 2026-2030 strategy, they are appointing two new Non-Executive Board members to sit on the Investment Committee. This role offers strategic leadership to ensure the organization has the resources to meet its objectives, oversee BSC’s investment approach, and contribute to growing the social investment landscape in the UK.
Key Responsibilities as a Member of the Investment Committee:
- Assess and approve new investments, considering impact and financial returns aligned with the company’s mission.
- Balance investment risk within the context of the portfolio, economic conditions, and organizational values.
- Monitor investment performance and review selection processes.
- Report regularly to the Board.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Senior experience in direct investment or fund of funds (Principal or Director level).
- Knowledge of growth equity/venture capital and/or secured credit.
- Experience serving on an Investment Committee.
