Introduction
hyperexponential (hx) is revolutionising the traditional insurance industry with our innovative SaaS platform, hx Renew. Insurers use hx Renew to build advanced mathematical models that enable smarter, faster pricing decisions—whether that’s determining the cost to insure Adele’s world tour or calculating premiums for protecting California’s public buildings against earthquakes. As hx enters 2025, we are building a world-class Sales Development Organisation to accelerate our growth. After achieving consistent year-over-year expansion in revenue and team size, we’re targeting new markets and accounts, including some of the largest names in the insurance industry.
As a Senior Sales Development Representative, you will play a critical role in creating and expanding opportunities within our key named accounts. This is a high-impact role requiring strong business acumen, a consultative approach, and a deep understanding of the insurance market or related industries. You’ll collaborate closely with Account Executives (AEs) and Sales Directors within your Sales Pod to map out and deeply understand target accounts, uncover pain points, and build relationships with decision-makers. Your efforts will directly contribute to generating qualified, high-value opportunities for the sales team to close.
Responsibilities
- Develop Strategic Opportunities: Work with top accounts in your territory to identify pain points, build relationships with key personas, and secure new business meetings. Convert these engagements into well-qualified, high-value opportunities.
- Multi-Thread Engagements: Collaborate with AEs to engage with multiple stakeholders within accounts, expanding relationships to include higher-level decision-makers and champions.
- Elevate Messaging for Existing Opportunities: Support pipeline progression by delivering tailored messaging to C-level executives, unlocking additional business lines or higher-value opportunities.
- Drive Deal Momentum: Facilitate “deal progression” meetings within accounts to build engagement, increase platform adoption, and drive stickiness.
- Collaborate with Marketing: Partner with marketing to ensure consistent and compelling messaging for events, webinars, and campaigns, and to provide feedback on campaign effectiveness.
Team Alignment
As part of the SDR Organisation, you’ll work in close partnership with your Pod’s Sales Director and Account Executives, ensuring alignment on account strategy and opportunity development. You’ll collaborate extensively with marketing, providing feedback loops to drive continuous improvement in campaign execution and messaging. Peer-to-peer alignment within the SDR team will foster a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices.
Persona
We’re looking for ambitious and experienced individuals with a passion for strategic sales:
- Experience: 18 months+ of SDR experience
- Experience working with a Strategic or Enterprise position
- Proven track record of hitting sales targets
- Experience working with a complex SaaS platform
- Confident and keen to spend time at industry events and social circuits
- Sufficiently strong analytical understanding
You’ll be curious, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where creativity and ownership are celebrated.
Skills:
- Strong business acumen and consultative selling skills to engage C-level executives.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to structure account strategies.
- Creative, strategic thinker who can craft innovative approaches to engage hard-to-reach stakeholders.
What Do We Offer?
- Competitive salary and commission.
- ÂŁ5,000 for individual and group training/conference budget.
- 25 days’ holiday plus 8 bank holidays (33 total).
- Company pension scheme via Penfold.
- Mental health and therapy provision via Spectrum.life.
- Individual wellbeing allowance via Juno.
- Private healthcare insurance through AXA.
- Top-spec equipment (laptop, screens, mechanical keyboards, etc).
Why Join Us?
At hx, you’ll join a team of the smartest and kindest operators in the industry, all aligned with our mantra of working smart and hard — tackling challenging problems, not working long hours. This is your opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact projects and to grow alongside a successful scale-up. You’ll gain invaluable experience in strategic account development while contributing to our mission of transforming the insurance industry. And yes, you’ll have fun doing it—guaranteed.
Please note that background checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process to ensure compliance with our governance policies.
