About the Department:
The Attendance and Intervention Officers are responsible for the central elements of student administration for the School, with specialist teams including Registration, Attendance, Progression and Retention and Assessment and Examinations. The Attendance Officer sit in the remits of Student Support Department works closely with other departments on Student Strategic Initiatives and Retention Strategies.
Purpose:
To provide Attendance and Intervention support within William College Group as part of a team focused on supporting group wide activities and processes You will work closely with stakeholders and coordinate Registry support functions to support the student journey.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement methods for evaluating student performance, including management of attendance records and registry support.
- Monitor, coordinate, and assess student progression and retention rates.
- Organize activities aimed at supporting student progress, with an emphasis on improving consistent attendance patterns.
- Provide support and guidance to students on course selection and academic progression.
- Collaborate closely with partner universities to manage student data accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely and authentic communication regarding student engagement.
- Proactively address the requirements of both students and educational institutions.
- Provide exceptional customer service and offer clear, authoritative advice on complex regulations and procedures within a complex environment.
- Generate precise and timely reports for the senior management team on both a scheduled and ad hoc basis.
- Work with the Attendance and Intervention Lead /Student Support Manager to enhance the skills of the members in Intervention Support and Student Support teams through the creation of guidance materials, sharing of best practices, and conducting regular training and process evaluations.
- Offer expertise on procedures and regulations related to the Registry and partner universities, briefing staff when necessary and addressing non-compliance issues.
- Plan and conduct events and workshops as part of the Attendance role.
- Demonstrate experience of delivering high profile, complex activities that involve liaison with external stakeholders.
- Assist in developing new assessment strategies, that can improve student engagement and retention.

Experience & Knowledge:

- Competency in Excel and other Google Suite tools
- Knowledge in Customer Service Standards
- Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and workloads, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative, demonstrating a positive approach to problem solving.
- Willingness to learn and develop and contribute to the wider activities of improving the overall attendance of the school.
