Description
To undertake the day-to-day management and coordination of all Circuit Safety Team activities, including ensuring routine inspections are carried out, allocating resources, training and implementation, review of SOPs and Risk Assessments. To act as an operational emergency command for the Circuit Safety Team and to coordinate and/or manage Race Control as required. To be an operational hands-on role reporting back findings and solutions involved in all track related matters to the Head of Safety & Circuit Manager. Ensuring the circuit is operating to the best possible standards and is ready for all operational requirements/emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe running of events on the Silverstone circuit and that the circuit is manned according to ‘Standard Operating Procedures’
- Responsible for the day-to-day line management of the full and part-time Circuit Safety team
- Recruitment of Circuit Safety marshals as required
- Oversee the onboarding and training of all new operational team
- Responsible for reviewing all related Policies, Safe Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, and training programmes, to ensure compliance and comprehensiveness.
- Ensure all ‘Risk Assessments’ & ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ are reviewed and updated annually and as required
- Assist in the delivery and recording of all training requirements throughout the permanent and casual team.
- Provide toolbox training to ensure SOPs and Risk Assessments are well communicated and understood by the team.
- Ensure that all daily checks of Safety Vehicles and Equipment as per ‘Start of Day Checklist’ are carried out.
- Ensure all daily routine activities are carried out and logged according to policies and procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is accounted for, in good condition, and the team has been trained on its use.
- Work with Head of Safety to set budgets for the following year.
- Ensure department spending is within the agreed budget.
- Agree with Head of Safety any 4+8 & 8+4 budget adjustments and CAPEX requests.
- Ensure all administrative duties are undertaken, including shift rotas, reporting on status directly to the Head of Safety.
- Attend weekly operational, event meetings, and liaise with internal stakeholders for smooth team operation.
- Coordinate with Contractors for maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure a Noise Officer is appointed and all monitoring activities are supported.
- Engage with Event Coordinators/Managers on Event Day to manage issues from the Black Flag process.
- Carry out daily routine activities of a circuit safety marshal, Noise Officer, Rescue Unit operative, Race Control duties, and Lights & Logging duties.
