We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Analytical Engineer specializing in Time Domain Analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performing complex calculations related to Insulation Coordination, Transient Over-Voltage, and Power Quality & Harmonics. Additionally, the candidate should possess extensive software proficiency in PSCAD and EMTP-RV.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed electrical analysis utilizing time domain techniques to evaluate system performance and identify potential issues.
- Perform complex calculations related to Insulation Coordination, Transient Over-Voltage, and Power Quality & Harmonics.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and support in electrical analysis and troubleshooting.
- Prepare comprehensive reports documenting analysis findings, recommendations, and design modifications.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to time domain analysis.
This position allows for a flexible hybrid schedule with a mix of in-office days and working remotely.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (background in Power/Power Systems) and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree. Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- 10 or more years of experience in Insulations Coordination, Transient Over-Voltage, and Power Quality & Harmonics.
- Proficiency in utilizing software tools such as PSCAD and EMTP-RV to perform complex electrical calculations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Experience in the power utility or energy industry is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications related to electrical analysis and time domain techniques are a plus.
