Corporate Banking is a rapidly expanding division within this bank's CIB franchise. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-growth, and high-performance team, contributing to the development of the coverage practice within a leading global bank. The team has achieved numerous successes, with strong backing from senior management in the UK to drive continued growth.

As an Associate, the role requires the ability to:

  • Actively engage in client relationship management and origination within the sector, working closely with Senior Coverage Bankers.
  • Support client engagement and business management activities, including client analysis, presentation preparation, submissions to business/credit committees, and assisting in managing team P&L.
  • Collaborate with key product partners and stakeholders across the bank’s international offices and divisions, supporting client relationships with products such as DCM, ECM, LCM, Derivatives, Securities Financing, Fixed Income sales, Trade Finance, Cash & Custody, and FX.
  • Ensure a balanced approach to capital returns and risk management as part of optimizing new and existing client relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of key clients within the sector to identify and originate business opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing internal sector updates following key news or financial results, internal briefing papers, memos for deal committees and credit applications, client account plans, client relationship return models, and high-quality pitch books.
  • Support the maintenance and input of client activity data and pipeline items into the Client Relationship Management system (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Assist in coordinating and executing transactions with relevant internal product groups and business functions.
  • Provide effective support to Senior Coverage Bankers, aiding in the management of client portfolios, including client interactions and P&L management.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent with relevant professional qualifications.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and corporate finance modeling skills.
  • Previous experience in a top-tier Corporate or Investment Bank, specifically within a client-facing role, is essential.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.
  • Have covered FTSE 100 / 250 corporate clients.
