The company: Our client is an EPC business specialising in the design and manufacturing of products used within the aluminium processing industry. They design a range of catalogue products and machines as well as offering a turnkey solution for large factory installations. These products are often used within the recycling and manufacturing industries. They currently employ 90 members of staff within the UK and have experienced a turnover of over £30 million in the last year. Established for more than 40 years in the UK, the company is experiencing growth and a consistent large volume of incoming projects globally across Europe, Canada, and the Middle East. Upcoming projects range from £8-10 Million in value, prompting the need to expand their design team to manage additional projects simultaneously.
The Role: We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in heavy-duty engineering or machinery. You will be joining a team of 4 Project Managers and will be responsible for overseeing project delivery throughout Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls specialities, working alongside them on new projects and managing delivery from start to finish. You will manage up to 10 projects simultaneously, with an average project value of around £300,000 - £600,000, and a typical project length of up to 9 months. To perform your activities, you will employ the use of systems and tools such as Monday.com, MS Projects, and Sage 200.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Plan, execute, and oversee projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution.
- Develop detailed project plans and ensure resource allocation.
- Track and monitor project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Ensure clear and transparent communication across departments.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience in project management, preferably in the heavy machinery industry.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g. MS Project, Monday.com).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the design, manufacturing, and assembly of machinery.
- Ability to travel internationally when required.
