Junior Designer – Footwear & Accessories

Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 remote)

Salary: Up to £35,000

About the Role

A well-established British fashion retailer, known for its stylish and trend-driven collections, is seeking a creative and motivated Junior Designer to support their footwear and accessories team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic design studio, contributing to the development of seasonal ranges including handbags and lifestyle accessories.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of women's footwear and accessory collections with a strong commercial focus
• Conduct market research and gather trend intelligence, including shop reports, to support the wider design and buying teams
• Show a strong understanding of the brand's identity, aesthetic, and target customer
• Stay up to date with both premium and high street fashion trends, and translate them into brand-relevant ideas
• Collaborate on the creation of unique branding and hardware concepts that reinforce the brand’s signature look
• Communicate effectively with internal departments and external suppliers
• Present creative ideas clearly and confidently to the team
• Offer trend insights and inspiration that help shape upcoming collections
• Bring enthusiasm and proactive thinking to the team, contributing fresh ideas
• Manage your workload efficiently and flexibly, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience & Skills

• 1–2 years of commercial experience in a footwear and accessories design environment
• A strong, versatile portfolio demonstrating creative vision and technical competency
• Degree-level education in Fashion, Footwear, or Accessories Design
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with solid digital drawing and CAD skills
• Confident in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint for presentations
