HGV Class 2 Night Driver

Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour
Working Pattern: Night shifts across a 7-day operation (flexibility required)

Job Overview:
Flexible People Ltd are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a leading provider of textile, hygiene, and facility services. We are seeking reliable and professional Night Drivers to support their busy logistics department. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a structured, service-led environment with ongoing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and collect goods between branches and customer sites.

• Comply with all road transport legislation and company policies.

• Act as a professional and courteous “Service Ambassador” for the company.

• Accurately record deliveries and collections via PDA or route manifest.

• Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks and maintain cleanliness.

• Load and unload cages containing clean and soiled linen; may include handling hampers and bags.

• Ensure the security of the vehicle and customer property.

• Adhere to safety protocols to protect yourself, third parties, and customer premises.

• Attend daily debrief sessions to report on route changes or customer feedback.

• Maintain high standards of uniform and personal presentation.

• Log and report any customer queries or issues using the correct documentation.

• Comply with driving performance systems and contribute to continuous improvement.

• Undertake additional duties as required by the Logistics or Operations team.

Requirements:

• Valid and appropriate UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.

• Up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).

• Experience in multi-drop or service delivery roles is preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently.

• PC literacy and use of handheld delivery devices (PDA) desirable.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing customer needs and schedules.

• Friendly, polite, and professional at all times.
