Ourdesignsare deeply rooted in the aesthetics of the 1930s–1950s, combining timeless vintage inspiration with modern precision and craftsmanship. The Role We are looking for an experienced Gerber Pattern Cutter to join our team on a freelance basis. You will be responsible for developing high-quality digital patterns for a variety of menswear garments, including tailoring, workwear, and jersey. The role is hybrid: you will work remotely on amendments but will be required to attend in-person fittings and sessions at our studio in Earlsfield when necessary. Key Responsibilities: Create and amend patterns using Gerber CAD software Work closely with ourdesignand production teams to bring vintage-inspired menswear pieces to life Interpretdesignsand ensure accurate pattern translation for sampling and production Attend fitting sessions and make necessary amendments to patterns post-fitting Reference and work with vintage garments from our brand’s archive Having access to dot and cross & card pattern printing is preferable. Ensure all patterns maintain a high level of fit, quality, and construction standards Key Requirements: Minimum 5 years of pattern cutting experience with established menswear brands Strong understanding of men’s tailoring , including suits and structured garments Experience working with workwear and jersey fabrics Excellent knowledge of fabric types and behaviour —including wools, denims, cottons, and jerseys—is essential Knowledge and interest in 1930s–1950s historical menswear is a strong plus Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively Highly organised, with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively Comfortable using Google Workspace , especially Google Sheets Ability to print dot and cross patterns (preferred), and prepare pattern cards when required Working Arrangement: Hybrid freelance role Remote work for pattern development and amendments On-site attendance required for fittings and sample development in Earlsfield, London Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Design, Art/Creative, and Information Technology Industries Retail Apparel and Fashion Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Cathcart London by 2x Get notified about new Pattern Cutter jobs in London Area, United Kingdom .
