A leading consultancy is seeking an experienced Client Delivery Partner to oversee a groundbreaking Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) programme with one of the UK’s major water utility providers. This multi-year transformation initiative aims to drastically reduce leakage, improve water efficiency, and deliver long-term sustainability benefits through the deployment of smart metering technology and IoT networks. This high-impact role is ideal for a strategic programme leader with deep expertise in utilities, smart metering, LoRaWAN networks, and digital infrastructure delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Leadership: Lead end-to-end delivery of a complex AMI smart metering programme, aligning cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • IoT & Meter Rollout: Manage smart meter forecasting, procurement, and rollout activities alongside LoRaWAN network deployment for real-time data capture.
  • Systems Integration: Oversee the integration of data and systems between metering devices, IoT platforms, and customer-facing interfaces.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships with internal teams, senior stakeholders, and third-party vendors to drive collaboration and results.
  • Governance & Risk Management: Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, identify delivery risks, and ensure proactive mitigation.
  • Financial Oversight: Track budgets, control programme costs, and ensure commercial efficiency across all delivery streams.
  • Contract & Compliance: Ensure all deliverables meet contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and performance KPIs.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven Track Record: 5+ years leading major digital transformation programmes in the utilities, energy, smart cities, or IoT infrastructure sectors.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with a consultative approach and excellent communication across all levels.
  • Strategic & Tactical Mindset: Ability to balance high-level programme strategy with on-the-ground execution.
  • Commercial Acumen: Skilled in procurement, vendor management, and delivering ROI-focused outcomes.
  • Certifications: PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent; degree in engineering, business, or related discipline preferred.
