Our M&E department is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Nottingham. The successful candidate will be required to undertake the following and will be given hands-on support to develop their skills further to progress their career with this business:
- Assume responsibility for individual projects
- Preparing outline and detailed designs for tender (specification and drawings)
- Preparing technical reports
- Undertaking surveys and detailed calculations
- Direct liaison with clients and contractors
- Attend project and design team meetings (office and site)
- Provide management of and/or technical support to Senior members of staff in the day-to-day running of the office
- Comply with the Firm’s Policies, Procedures and Quality Management Systems
The successful candidate’s essential requirements:
- HNC/D or degree in relevant field (degree is preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate design experience in consultancy or contracting
- Understanding of current building regulations
- Understanding of the construction industry design and procurement process
- Understanding of CIBSE guides
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, IES, and Hevacomp (or equivalent)
The successful candidate should have sound verbal and written communication skills, be self-motivated, and ambitious to progress. They will be capable of working as part of a team but also use initiative and manage their own workload.
