Business Overview
The Solar/Heat pump and battery storage arm you would be working within focuses on mid-sized Ground and Roof mounted Solar PV and battery storage solutions. They are a leading consultant, designer, installer, and maintenance/servicer of renewable energy systems throughout the UK. Their approach to projects starts with an initial consultation through to the design, installation, and maintenance of our systems, all of which are completed by expert engineers and technicians. This approach, coupled with the use of industry-leading products, ensures the customer experience before, during, and after our installation is second-to-none, and the long-term efficiency of our installations is market-leading. Over 70% of our work comes directly from referrals; this alone speaks volumes about the quality of our approach and work.
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team. A self-starter with a professional attitude who relishes achieving great results. The primary focus will mainly be on Solar PV; however, the role would also be expected to generate leads for Commercial Ground Source and Air Source Heat Pump project sales. The successful candidate will build working relationships with Heads of Renewables, Sustainability Managers, End-user companies, Main Contractors, M&E Contractors, Architects, and Consultants in order to increase sales opportunities. A strong knowledge base in Solar PV and the general renewables market is preferable, however, specific product training is available so other industry experience is fine.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
- Identifying and meeting customer needs with best-in-class proposals resulting in order intake levels/targets set.
- Ensuring that all orders secured achieve company GM requirement set each year.
- Meeting clients on site and discussing their needs whilst surveying the property to define a solution utilizing the full range of technologies available.
- Sizing Solar PV systems to ensure that the best financial returns are achieved by the client, and the correct technical specification of equipment is sold.
- Maintaining good sales relationships including undertaking presentations for key industry contacts, engaging with networking events and maintaining regular conversations with existing and prospective clients.
- Keep up to date with the latest product details, technology developments, industry news, and policy changes.
- Developing good relationships with the Operations teams and maintaining relationships throughout the project life cycle.
